M.T. Bellies is a Welland institution. Known as much for its community spirit as its signature chicken finger dinner (don’t hold back- go for the buffalo), M.T Bellies is a hands-down family-favourite without comparison in Niagara. Open for 15+ years, owner John Clark has a personality as big as the iconic mascot who greets the guests cuddled together on benches waiting for the zinger to let them know their table was worth the wait.
Seamlessly offering-up three experiences in one: a a pub/sports-bar atmosphere, a family booth section and “the garage”, a space for celebratory parties , M.T. Bellies proves populuar for just about any occassion. For birthdays and after work drinks (the only reputable Welland after work pint going), MT’s continues to be warm, comfortable, smiley and consistent.
Launching careers of Wee Wizards (young magicians entertain every Wednesday for tables full of delighted kids and their grannies), M.T. Bellies draws a diverse crowd of college kids, sport enthusiasts, and local councillors for generous portions of pub grub and kid favourites that live up to their signature slogan of “Big Food. Big Fun”. Without being cliche, MT. does actually have something for everyone: Labelled as “Flavourites”, The Buddha bowl, perch and chips, pastas, frittatas, pecan panko crusted chicken salad, burgers and chipotle cheese steaks – each one hits the spot.
And because my daughter actually wrote this, and must be quoted lest I go to a bad-karma mom place: “M. T. Bellies is a family favourite in Welland. When I go to M. T. Bellies their service is always exellent. At M.T. Bellies there are lots of seats and about 5 different rooms including the party room and bar. For your entrance you are welcomed with a humongous statue of their mascot and a server to seat you. Every time you go there the food will taste better and better and you will go there again and again.
See what we mean?
